The Perfect Fit

To a dear friend

Men are like shoes. No matter how beautiful they are, and even if it's Christian Louboutin, if it's not the perfect fit then it's not worth it. Don't worry, soon you'll find the 'perfect fit'.

How to put nail polish on your own (nail polish that will last for a week!)

When I was working as a Flight Attendant, we were required to put on nail polish whenever we report to work. The only colors that they allow are beige, red and french tip.

Since it would be quite expensive if I would go the salon every week to have a manicure, I was forced to learn how to put nail polish on my own.

Buy a nail polish that has a good quality. I suggest to buy your nail polish from The Faceshop. Aside from the fact that it is affordable (Php 95.00 per bottle), when applied it dries easily too. Once you remove the nail polish, it doesn't make your nails dry and yellow. There are also a lot of colors to choose from! ;)

If your using an old bottle of nail polish, and it seems that the consistency is quite thick already, just put a little nail polish solvent in the bottle of the nail polish that your using. This makes the consistency thin, for better application.

Step 1: Clean your nails. Put cuticle remover on your nails to soften it. Use a nail pusher to even out the cuticles. Remove all the cuticles from side to side using a nipper. Cut your nails to your desired length using a nail cutter. I suggest to cut your nails in a square shape. Make the edges of your nails even using an emery board.

Step 2: Shake the bottle of the nail polish before application.

Step 3: For right handed people, put nail polish on your left fingernails first and vice versa. Apply the nail polish of your choice in 3 strokes from left to right, starting from top of the cuticle down to the end of your nail.

Tip: While putting on nail polish, make sure to avoid any direct contact with the electric fan or aircon. This creates bubbles or uneven texture to the nail polish.

Step 4: Apply the 2nd coat of nail polish. Same direction as stated in Step 3.

Step 5: Apply one thick coat of clear nail polish. This is the ultimate secret to make your nail polish last for a week!

Tip: For clear nail polish, do not shake the bottle before application. This creates bubbles, which makes the application of the nail polish uneven.

Step 6: Let your nail polish dry for about two hours.

Voila!

AFTER 1 WEEK:

Remove the old nail polish using a nail polish remover. I suggest that you buy the nail polish remover from The Faceshop (Php 95.00 per bottle). It's gentle to your nails, and it smells good too! (smells like strawberries)

Tip: Use nail polish every other week to avoid making your nails brittle and yellow. You may also use a slice of lemon to remove the yellow stains on your nails.

My 2012 Birthday Wish List

My Birthday is just a few months from now, and this is the first time that I’ve created a Birthday Wish list (believe it or not!). My family and friends would always ask me what I want for my birthday. I would always say "you don’t have to" or "anything." Just to make things different this year, I challenge myself that if someone asks me what I want for my birthday, I would tell them the things that I really want. I hope that for my birthday month, I can have all the items listed down in my birthday wish list. Here it is:

1. White Apple iPod touch 4th Gen

2. Sony Digital Still Camera W610/P 14.1 Mega Pixel W Series 4x Optical Zoom Cyber-shot (Pink)
3. BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300

4. Globe MyFi

5. A black Charles and Keith hand / shoulder bag

6. A medium size Charles and Keith wallet

7. Black Zara boots
8. Sheer LBD

9. Gold watch

10. Laura Mercier Eye Shadow Palette in Plum
